How ClearedRx Works

ClearedRx is a telehealth platform that connects you with board-certified physicians who specialize in menopause and HRT. Here's how it works:

  • Step 1 — Free Consultation: Complete a 3-minute online health questionnaire about your symptoms, medical history, and goals.
  • Step 2 — Physician Review: A board-certified physician reviews your information and, if appropriate, prescribes your treatment. You'll receive a message with their recommendation and a chance to ask questions.
  • Step 3 — Delivery: Your prescription is filled by a licensed US pharmacy and shipped directly to your door in discreet packaging — free of charge.

Ongoing refills, dosage adjustments, and physician support are all included in your monthly subscription.

No. ClearedRx is entirely online. You never need to visit a clinic or doctor's office. Our physicians review your health information asynchronously and communicate with you through our secure messaging platform.

If our physician determines that an in-person evaluation is necessary before prescribing, they will let you know. This is rare for most standard HRT treatments.

ClearedRx serves patients in all 50 US states. Our physician network is licensed across all states, and we ship to all US addresses including Alaska and Hawaii.

Most consultations are reviewed within 24 hours. Once your prescription is approved, your order is typically shipped within 1–2 business days and arrives within 3–5 business days via standard shipping.

All orders ship free. Expedited shipping is available for an additional fee.

HRT & Treatments

For most healthy women under 60 who are within 10 years of menopause onset, the current evidence strongly supports that the benefits of HRT outweigh the risks. The North American Menopause Society (NAMS), the British Menopause Society, and major medical organizations worldwide share this position.

The 2002 Women's Health Initiative study that sparked widespread fear about HRT has been substantially reinterpreted in the years since. The study used older women (average age 63), synthetic hormones, and oral delivery — factors that significantly differ from how HRT is prescribed today.

Every ClearedRx prescription is individually reviewed by a board-certified physician who will assess whether HRT is appropriate for you based on your specific health history. Read our full article on HRT safety →

Bioidentical hormones are chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced by the human body. The most common bioidentical hormones used in HRT are estradiol (the primary form of estrogen) and micronized progesterone.

Synthetic hormones, such as conjugated equine estrogen (from horse urine) and medroxyprogesterone acetate, have a different molecular structure and metabolic profile. The WHI study used synthetic hormones.

ClearedRx prescribes FDA-approved bioidentical hormones — estradiol and micronized progesterone — which are available in multiple delivery forms (patches, gels, creams, tablets).

The right treatment depends on your specific symptoms, health history, preferences, and whether you have a uterus (which determines whether you need progesterone in addition to estrogen).

Our physician will review your consultation and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you. You can also browse our treatments page to learn about each option before your consultation.

Yes. Women who have had a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) typically only need estrogen — not progesterone — because progesterone is primarily prescribed to protect the uterine lining. Our physician will take this into account when reviewing your consultation.

Most women begin to notice improvement in hot flashes and sleep within 2–4 weeks of starting HRT. Full symptom relief typically takes 8–12 weeks as hormone levels stabilize.

Some symptoms, like vaginal dryness, may take longer to fully resolve — typically 6–12 weeks of consistent use.

If you're not seeing improvement after 8–12 weeks, contact your ClearedRx physician. A dosage adjustment may be appropriate.
